My next half marathon....

.... is this coming weekend in San Antonio, TX. The Rock n Roll Marathon & 1/2. Like my first event I ran in I will be doing this one with stitches. Again, it was unavoidable. Minor surgery on Wed. that had to be done then or wait 5 weeks. Figured may as well get it done & over. Been resting at home. Will make the drive to San Antonio on Sat. and stay though Monday. I will be at the historic Menger Hotel which is supposedly haunted. Will see. Its not my usual hotel stop when in town but wanted to branch out a bit and try something a little different.

For this event I will be running (probably walking mostly due to recent events) for a fellow racer. A young motorcycle racer from Texas had a horrible accident at a race in Virginia. His name is Zac Chapman. While I do not know him personally it is always difficult to hear about any racer rather it be NHRA Drag Racing, motorcycles, off-road, running, etc. becomes injured. He is a friend of a friend and young Zac is fighting for his life. He is cared for by many. It is my honor to have been asked to wear one of his Get Well Zac Attack shirts during this half marathon event. ..... to say I am alive. Just havent been feeling very well and not enough hours in the day it seems. Will write when I have a chance, probably this weekend.
